I have learned a lot reading the articles on your site and appreciate what you are doing to help those of us with little or no knowledge of diamonds.
I have the setting picked out already. It will be custom made out of 14k gold to look like this:

I have around a $4000 budget to spend on the diamond. I would like a cushion cut, with a length/width ratio as close to 1.00 as possible.
I prefer the “chunky” rather than the “crushed ice” look.
In would like the diamond to have a taller crown in order to separate the planes of the diamond’s table and the setting’s bezel.
My questions are:
With no light entering the stone from the bottom or sides, and using 14k gold, does your minimum color & clarity recommendations of H and SI1 still apply?
Do you have any diamonds you could recommend for me?
Are there any other variables I should consider in a diamond being set in this unique setting?
Thank you in advance for any advice you can give me. I am excited about the whole process.
I love this diamond for you:

It’s a phenomenal cut and will look great in that ring. What do you think?
You nailed it. I just ordered the diamond you recommended. I greatly appreciate it.
Thanks so much for your help.
Sounds great. Please let me know how it looks when it arrives.
The diamond looks great. It is just what I was looking for. I am bringing it to the jeweler tomorrow to look at it under the loop, but I know I am not going to see anything that makes me change my mind about it.
Then it’s 3 weeks for the ring to be made.
Thank you so much for your advice and help in finding this for me.
