I’m hoping to find a nice diamond to have set in james allen thin french pave setting. My budget for the stone is around $1700 i have size 5.5 fingers. I’ve always been a quality over quantity girl to a certain extent. I would like a nice flashy stone but a decent size for my finger that is still noticeable. But i don’t like them too big. I like the look of a .6ct round size on my finger. Problem is i’m not a real fan of round diamonds i’m loving the cushions! But i’m worried that because of cushions generally facing up smaller it will be microscopic. As the most i can afford on my budget is .6ct with decent color and clarity etc. Im wondering if cut grading makes a difference. Any input would he really appreciated. I have to get the right stone this time as my fiancee will be soo frustrated if i change my mind as i have done before with a yucky yellow marquise lol
I’d be happy to make some recommendations and guide you through the process. What type of setting are you considering? Yellow gold or white gold/platinum? Will it be a solitaire or does it have sidestones/pave? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
Let me know and I’d be happy to send you some suggestions.

I love this diamond for you:

It’s beautifully cut, and will look fantastic in that setting. For your budget, you would have ended up with a 0.60ct round, which will face up about the same size as this.
