I was wondering if you could send me a link to a James Allen Diamond that would be “eye clean.” I’m looking for a round (brilliant) cut diamond that would be set in a white gold ring. Thank you in advance for your time and help.
What’s your ballpark budget?
I want a 1 Ct. Diamond for under $7,000
Well, that’s pretty easy. We often get people whose expectations far exceed their budget. You can actually come in well under budget:
This is a beautiful diamond. It’s absolutely eye-clean, well cut and a great value. What do you think?
I reviewed that one online and was concerned about the cluster of imperfections in the corner. That’s why your the expert, as I wouldn’t know what is considered eye clean without looking at the diamond in a setting. I will be purchasing the diamond in the next 60 days, so I wanted to get a feel for what to look for. Thank you again for all your help!!!
Thanks. Let me know when you are ready to purchase and I’ll make a recommendation (if that one is sold).
I’m ready to make a purchase! I wanted to thank you for giving me the education necessary to combat high pitched sales techniques. I went to the Dallas World Trade center to look at settings and they of course wanted to sell me a diamond. They started with EGL, which was of course poorer quality than GIA. I told him that we were not interested in that grading and he remarked that it the poor name for EGL was due to Turkey and that there are 8 other EGL sites that provide better grading services. Regardless of his remarks, I asked that he provide a side by side comparison of a US EGL graded diamond vs a GIA diamond of the same caliber…end result GIA was better in all 4 categories!!
He did show me a GIA certified diamond with Very Good Cut, VG Sym., Ex Polish, H-color, SI1 Clarity, but I think it was priced high for the market ($6,000). He also allowed us to see the diamonds under an arrows and hearts device (had a magnifier that outlined the hearts and arrows).
Please let me know what diamonds you recommend from James Allen, so I can make the purchase under your recommendation.
Have a great day!
I would go with one of these:
They are superior cuts and far better values. Keep in mind that there is no sales tax on internet purchases.
I went online and was unable to purchase those diamonds. Please send new link.
Thank You!!
I’m sorry, I was on vacation. For some reason, the auto-reply didn’t work.
Do you mean that they were sold already and you want a new recommendation or that there was some problem making a purchase? The diamonds were both available when I recommended. I’d be happy to make new ones, but want to make sure that was the issue.
No worries! Vacations are necessary to keep us sane.
Yes, those diamonds were both sold by the time I viewed them.
I’m meeting with the other jeweler to have the ring made/designed tomorrow, so it would be great if I could show him the diamond options I have. I know he will try to sell me one of his, but I doubt he can match price/selection with his assortment. Last time I was there he had a large selection of EGL and a much more limited selection if AGI options.
I’m looking for approximately 1ct. Round diamond with best possible cut and brilliance/fire that is eye clean and H or better color.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Wow, I’m happy I got back in time to answer this for you. Walk away from that Jeweler ASAP! No dealer with a shred of integrity would sell EGL diamonds:

I would go with this one:
Thank You Michael! I ordered the diamond from your email link! I genuinely appreciate all your help!!
Have a wonderful day!!
Sounds good. Please let me know how it looks when it arrives.
Just got the diamond and it looks great! Thank you again for all your help.
