I’m looking for an Oval diamond up to $5000ish and near 1ct. (.9 to .99) to go into a white gold Halo setting. What do you recommend?
Is there a particular reason to stick with a 0.90-0.99? You have plenty of room in your budget for a nice 1ct.

What do you think?
Thanks for the reply. I only stated those parameters because I didn’t think I’d be able to get a 1ct. in my price range. The diamond you recommended was color H with faint phosphoresce. I’m assuming that it helps the appearance. It is no longer available, though. I’d love some more recommendations and/or things to look for to determine better quality cuts. If I can get my girlfriend out of the house I’ll send you some links of diamonds I’m curious about.
…….
Oooops “fluorescence” not “phosphorescence”. I guess that would make it glow in the dark. Haha
What do you think about the following diamond in a halo setting? It’s a “J” with medium fluorescence.
I would not recommend a J color on ovals, certainly not if you are putting it in a halo.
Here are some other diamonds I’m looking at. Do any of them stand out from the pack?
This is the best choice:

Thanks so much for the help. I just purchased that diamond.
Sounds great. Please let me know how it looks when it arrives.
The ring arrived yesterday. It’s amazing how small a diamond looks in person after looking at blown up pictures on the web for weeks. Well, the diamond is impressive in size and cut. I took it out in the sunshine and it nearly blinded me. Thanks again for your help.

I just wanted to let you know that my fiancé loves the ring and diamond. Thanks again for your help.
That’s great. Best of luck.
