I just found your site today and you have really great advice and guidance. Your advice about the importance of being able to see a picture of a diamond (to make sure it is eye clean) when shopping online has been extremely helpful. Over the past few weeks I have been searching for a loose diamond for an engagement ring. I am looking for a princess cut diamond with a budget of about 3,500.
Ideally, I would like the diamond to have an Ideal cut, color in the F-I range, and be eye clean. The bigger the diamond I can get in my price range and still have the ideal characteristics, the better. That being said, the brilliance and quality of the diamond is of the utmost importance. I would be ecstatic if I could find a 1 carat diamond in my price range but my initial research has tempered my expectations. I did find the following diamond on James Allen and I was wondering what you thought of it.
Thank you so much for any guidance you can provide!
I would go with this diamond instead:
They will look pretty much identical and its almost 10% cheaper.
Thank you so much for the suggestion. It looks fantastic and is going to save me some money, which is great as I am a student with a limited budget. I’m excited to receive the diamond and have it set and will let you guys know how it goes!
Let me know how it looks when it arrives.
The diamond arrived yesterday. It’s very nice and I’m really happy with your suggestion. I only wish that it was slightly more square rather than rectangular like the other stone, but that tradeoff is definitely worth the 300 dollars in savings. Not to mention the fact that I do not think the shape difference will be noticeable once it is set into a ring. Thank you again for your help.
Thanks for writing and letting us know. I’m delighted that you were pleased with our help.
