I’m looking for a $2000-$3000 round brilliant diamond on www.jamesallen.com to go with one of their platinum solitaire engagement rings.
I want to follow your priorities of cut, dimensions and being eye clean.
My main problem is I have no idea how big an imperfection on the website has to be for it to be visable to the naked eye. Im thinking something like this:
It has a visible inclusion on the website. Would it be eye clean or could I go for something with more imperfections and it still be eye clean?
Can you suggest anything better?
Also the James Allen website refers to Ideal and True Hearts Cut but the GIA certificates have Excellent as their top. Is there any difference between the diamonds on JA listed as Ideal or Excellent given GIA classifies both as Excellent?
It seems like you have this diamond buying process down pat. I love the diamond you selected. It is eye-clean and don’t worry about the different cut grades. GIA uses the term ‘Excellent’ and AGS uses the term ‘Ideal.’ You don’t need to spend extra for a True Hearts.
Let me know how it looks when it arrives.
Thanks!
We ordered it so will see how it goes.
Great. Keep me posted.
