I am looking to buy an engagement ring for my future wife. I already chose the setting on James Allen Web site:
It is a $1450 18k white gold setting. I am now looking for the best round diamond to go with it while keeping the price of the ring around $3000. This means that I have about $1500 left for the diamond.
Which diamond on James Allen Web site would you recommend for my budget?
I would recommend this diamond to go with that setting:
https://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/G-SI1-Excellent-Cut-Round-Diamond-1522123.asp
It’s bright, eye-clean and a great value. What do you think?
Regarding the diamond I have a few questions:
This page from your Website: https://www.diamonds.pro/education/color/ advise not to buy round diamond with a color higher than H for white gold settings. The color of the diamond you are suggesting is G. Is it because of the surrounding diamonds in the setting (which have a F-G average color)? If I were to buy a lower color diamond (and then potentially bigger for the same price) would it still look good on this setting? Or the color difference would be too noticeable?
Thanks again for you help
When the setting has pave/sidestones, you should stick with H+ for the center diamond. You don’t want it to look yellow compared to the accent diamonds. So I searched for H+ eye-clean, sorting by price. It happened to be this was the cheapest, eye-clean well cut diamond there. I wouldn’t recommend searching only for a G, but its definitely not a negative.
I’m glad I asked for help, I would have never thought of that. I will go for that diamond then.
Thank you so much.
Sounds good. Let me know how it looks when it arrives.
The ring looks great, my fiancée loves it. Thanks again for you help, I will recommand your site to my friends.
