I am looking for a princess cut diamond for an engagement ring. First I would like to say thank you for providing such a wonderful site, it has educated me a lot about diamonds. I have been reviewing all the articles on your site for the past three months and am confident that I am prepared to take the next step and purchase this diamond.
I discovered James Allen through your website and feel comfortable purchasing from them. To provide some information, I will be purchasing a channel set setting in platinum https://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/channel-set/14k-white-gold-0.60ct-channel-set-princess-shaped-engagement-ring-item-2357?a_aid=dmnd1357 which will leave me with a budget of $4200 for the diamond. I am looking for a diamond that is as close as possible to a one carat. I understand the price increases once it hits the one carat mark and would like to avoid it. My “ideal” diamond would be one that is right under a carat but has a very good cut that would make it appear larger than a one carat and has that sparkle and brilliance to it. Due to the diamonds in the setting having an average color of G-H, I believe it would be smart not to go below the H color.
Going by the recommendations on your website for princess cut I went to James Allen and put the depth to be between 68-73% and table below 75% but wasn’t sure if anything else needed to be looked at which is why I am contacting you. Although I would not like to go beyond my budget, if you find a diamond for a slightly higher amount ($100-$200) and you think it’s a very good deal please let me know.
Thanks for your help.

It’s bright, eye-clean and will look great in that setting. What do you think?
