I am looking for a round excellent cut diamond, 0.95 to 1.05 carat, G or better in color, SI1/VS2 or better in clarity, GIA or AGS. I’d prefer not to spend more than $8K.

I wouldn’t worry about the clarity on the E SI1. I like the E SI1 better than the G because eye clean is eye clean, but color is relative. And a jump from G to E might be just visible enough to appreciate whereas eye clean SI1 looks exactly the same as eye clean VS1.

The wisps are mostly translucent. Not black at all.
