I wanted to see if you could provide some diamond recommendations for me. A little background; my girlfriend does not wear a lot of jewelry, especially rings. After trying on lots of rings she finally fell in love with a setting that she also felt was comfortable enough for her to wear everyday:

Stacey is an accountant and also an avid horseback rider and wants the ring to be as low profile as possible to avoid getting in the way while typing and riding. Because of this she really doesn’t want a large stone. I think 1 Ct would be the maximum depending on how the individual stone is cut. She prefers the princess cut and my budget on the stone would top out around $3500. It could be increased if the right stone came up.
Thanks ahead for all of your help. The website has been such a great resource in this process.
Happy to help.
Here’s what I like for you:

This is actually a “Leo” stone that’s being quietly sold on JA. Normally, Leo’s don’t have such a nice cut, but this one is different. The proportions are great.
If you want something more standard, I like this one:

Let me know what you think!
You’re the best! I actually had the “Leo” on my short list so I went ahead with it. In your opinion what do you think that diamond would have retailed at at on of the brick and mortar stores? I will send you a picture of Stacey and the ring after I propose!

I received some bad news from James Allen today. The diamond we had chosen became unavailable for some reason prior to shipping. I received a call today and the sales rep suggested another stone as a replacement; they did not give me a price other than saying that it was listed for more than my original stone and that they may be able to help me out a little on the price. Here is a link to it:

I can’t say I like it nearly as much as my original purchases, I wanted to get your thoughts and to see if there was anything else you could recommend?
That’s a shame. It could also be that someone discovered that it was a Leo and had it pulled. JA could get in trouble for selling a branded stone that doesn’t belong to them.
But the truth is, the E SI2s is a far superior stone to the Leo. The cut is much better as is the color (noticeably so).
