I would like to say that your site has provided the exact information and education I was craving to know in order to pick out a diamond. It is exceptionally helpful and insightful.
I’m so excited to be with the love of my life that I want to give her the absolute best I can at the best value. And while I’m sure nobody would be able to tell between a .58 and a .59 carat, it makes a difference to me knowing that my choice was the best of all worlds.
I’ve been shopping for a princess cut diamond on James Allen (they just can’t be beat), to be set in what will be a diamond band (similar to the Tiffany Novo style). Will probably be buying sometime within the next 4 weeks. In looking and seeing, my wonderful girlfriend has stated that a .5 carat is a little too small and does not stand out as much as she’d like against the small diamonds on the band. We liked a little bit bigger, and based on my budget (under $1300), this allows me to get something in the .57-.6 range, based on my searching. I’ve narrowed it down to what I think are some good choices, and would very much appreciate your opinion on these (or if you can find something better). THANKS!

I really like the G VS2. Its a beautiful diamond, brighter than the others, and a great value.
I really appreciate the input. Knowing that the “cut” of a princess is not on a standardized grading system, would you give much weight to the difference between JA’s “excellent (ideal)” or “very good” overall cut grade designations?
Honestly, I don’t know James Allen’s parameters, but I would say as follows:
Depth: 68-75% (ideally 70-73)
Table: 70-75%
L:W ratio less than 1.05
No extremely thin or thick girdles.
Thanks for the info.
I’ll see if anything comes up in the next few days, but I do like that G/VS2 as well.
Sounds good. Keep me posted.
I decided to buy that G/VS2 from James Allen. Purhased it Sunday night, shipped Monday, arrived this Tuesday morning! Extremely satisfied! The diamond is breathtaking- clear, white, and a nice size. The packaging was very nice, and I plan on using their lovely ring box once I get the diamond set in a ring.
I couldn’t help but be just a little nervous about how everything would turn out, despite the fact that JA has the incredibly helpful and detailed photos. However, I see now that my apprehension was completely unfounded and am blown away at the quality of the product and helpfulness of their customer service. Very happy I went this route, and very appreciative of you and The Diamond Pro.
