Thank you so much for kindly offering your expertise! I was wondering if you could help me with a diamond recommendation, as I feel pretty lost in the process
I am looking for a Princess cut diamond, 0.95-1.05 carat, and am hoping to find the best diamond for my budget of under $3600. I really don’t mind about the clarity as long as it is eye clean. I am envisioning a platinum setting, however, and so imagine that I am looking for an H or better in terms of color?
I found a few potential diamonds, but would love to hear your thoughts on these or any other diamonds you think might be a good value.
Thank you so much!
I suggest you focus more on size than weight. Check this article out:

This diamond is far nicer than the poorly cut F VS1 and it will look identical in size. The other diamonds are not eye-clean.
What do you think?
Thank you so much for the advice. The diamond you suggested looks great! I’ve also tried your suggestion about trying to look for size rather than carat size, and was just wondering if you had any thoughts on whether any of these would look good as well (and esp. are eye-clean)? I have to admit, the possibility of finding a diamond in the $3100-$3400 range is attractive as it would let me spend more on the setting. Here are the ones I am looking at, where I tried to optimize on L/W/D rather than carat; would love to hear your thoughts:
Definitely feel close to being able to make my purchasing decision- really appreciate your help with this
This one is a winner:
I would not go with an IGI certified diamond.
Mike, thank you so much for the help here… Alas, it looks like I was too slow to act and just missed it. I realize you’ve already gone above and beyond, but is there any chance there are any diamonds that you’d recommend that is similar in quality and price range to the diamond you’ve eyed below?
I would recommend this one for you:
