Is buying higher than a G color and VS1 clarity a complete waste of money for a princess cut on platinum? are there differences between a d and g color that can be detected by the naked eye? are there differences between an IF and vs1 clarity that can be detected by the naked eye?
Yes and no. There is absolutely no reason to look for IF/VVS1 over VS1 in a princess cut. On the other hand, depending what size you are looking at, the price isn’t that different. What is your ballpark budget? I can give you some examples.
Thanks!
Do you think this is the best 1.5 ct princess diamond for my money

Or is there a cheaper one that would look exactly the same to the naked eye?
See that is precisely what I was referring to. Had you asked me for the nicest 1.50ct princess cut, I would have recommended that one as the best diamond and value. It’s a real winner.
Thanks a ton! I’m so nervous about buying online… Do you think that diamond is too big to be the center piece of the three stone setting #17133p?? The side stones are only .24 ct
That is a question of style, not quality. Personally, I think it will look absolutely fine (proportion wise).
You’re a god sent… I’ll keep you posted
