That is a very generous offer to search for diamonds for people free of charge. I will take you up on it!
My girlfriend really likes the Tiffany Legacy style of engagement ring. She won’t accept a ring from Tiffany because she knows it is 3X what you can get anywhere else. I figure that a cushion cut in a halo setting (platinum) would be the same style. I’m looking to spend $6K or under for the stone. I really don’t like visible flaws, but who does?
I’d be happy to help you out. You say you want to spend 6k on the diamond. Do you already have a plan for getting the setting? I can just recommend you the diamond, or I can also refer you to sites that can copy that setting.
The Halo type setting with pave diamonds. The James Allen one is fine or anything like that. Would prefer a site that can give you the ring made.
I’m sorry for the delay. I got stuck traveling on the way home this weekend.
I like these two for you:

What do you think?
No problem. Do you think prices drop after Valentine’s Day? Like TV prices the day after the Super Bowl 😉
I like the first one and it is exactly what you guys preach (don’t overpay for color and get an eye clean stone). If I’m going to set this in a Vintage or Halo setting, is it important to get a diamond of a higher color than the surrounding stones? Most of the settings have G-H colored secondary stones.
I also see both diamonds mildly fluoresce, do you think that would make the diamond appear more colorless than H?
1) Prices don’t drop. They don’t fluctuate more than a few percent on better quality diamonds because there are such small margins to begin with.
2) We always recommend H+ on the center diamond for pave/halo settings. We have never had any readers have a problem with that.
3) The fluorescence is fine.
