Hello. Im searching for an engagement ring. Im looking to get a round stone between .90 – 1 carat, and im looking in the vs2 – SI2 range, depending on the inclusions that i see in the particular diamond. Id like a excellent to very good cut. I’ve been told that when it comes to depth, the range i should stay in is 58 to 63 and the table should be 54 to 61. Also, im looking at colors between F and G. id like to spend somewhere around $4000 for the diamond. Am i on the right path or do you have any suggestions for what i should be looking for versus what ive explained above? Thank you for your help.
I’d be happy to make some recommendations and guide you through the process. What type of setting are you considering? Yellow gold or white gold/platinum? Will it be a solitaire or does it have sidestones/pave? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).

I agree they are both nice, especially the 1st. I think I would like to go a little bigger than a .9, but since I plan to set it in a halo it will still have the effect of a larger stone. Would you agree with that?
