First off, I would like to say thank you for putting together this website. The information here is awesome and I feel like I have learned a great deal about diamonds, specifically what characteristics are important and which ones add to the price. I am looking for an engagement ring on a $4k budget. I would like to get a solitaire ring, more specifically white gold. Obviously the two most important things I am looking for is size and brilliance. I have been browsing James Allen & Blue Nile online and have visited a few local retailers (Jared). The whole process is a little daunting and I was hoping you could help provide me with a few diamonds to choose from.
Thanks for your time.
Thanks for writing and the kind words about the site! Does your budget need to include the setting, or is it for the diamond only? If it needs to include the setting, can you let me know how much you want to spend on the setting? Even for solitaires, there’s quite a range out there. Also, what shape diamond did you want?
I look forward to hearing from you!
I am sorry, I was a little excited about sending out that email and I left out a few important details. The $4k budget was including the setting, but I am looking for something pretty plain. Somewhere in the $400 or $500 range. Also, I wouldn’t mind paying a couple hundred more if the diamond is worth it. I guess I would just like to keep it around $4k. I want the diamond to be round. Once again, thanks for taking the time to help me.
I think one of these would be great for you:

Let me know what you think!
Thanks again for your help. Looking at these, I don’t really see what differentiates the price that much. I guess the first one (#1352986) looks the best to me. I was hoping to get a stone closer to the .9-1 carat range. If I increase my budget and say $4500 – $5000 total do you think we could get something a little bigger? Also, can I assume that any inclusions in these diamonds will be hidden when it is set and not visible to the eye? Also, when I do buy this diamond, how do I make sure you get the credit you deserve?
In that case, these are some nice choices:

As for the credit – thanks so much for your concern! It should happen automatically.
THanks so much!
I went with the 1.02 carat J SI1 you sent me. I used the TADJ10 code to get 10% off the setting so you should get the credit. Thanks again for all your help. I probably would have ended up with an inferior stone from a place like Jared or Kay Jewelers so your website and personal touch was amazing.
Great news! Congrats!
The ring, more specifically the stone, looks amazing. I can’t thank you enough for guiding me through this process both through your website and through these emails. When she sees the ring she will be in awe. Thank you a million times over.
Great news!! Thanks so much for letting me know! Do you think you could do me a small favor? If you could leave me a short review on ivouch, I would be extremely grateful. Here’s a direct link if you have the time:
