I’m glad I stumbled upon your site. I was hoping you could help me pick out a proper diamond.
I like this setting the best of all.
Before I even found the setting above I did not know if I wanted a Round Cut or a Princess Cut.
I’m looking to spend between to $3K-$4k for the diamond, but less is never a problem.
The background on my girlfriend. She is a dental hygienist. So a large diamond is out of the question as most of the day the ring will be covered in a latex glove. She is also a woman of ”simple” tastes, she does not wear rings, she does not have her ears pierced. So this ring will be the only thing she has.
I’m looking to get the best wow factor out of a smaller diamond. When I look at the diamond I don’t want it to appear ”flat”, I would rather it have a nice ”luster” to it.
I think this might be your best bet:

Have a look and let me know what you think!
I do have a question about that diamond. It looks like there is a “sratch” on the very top of the diamond in the upper right hand. I know this is under magnification but would this show up to the naked eye?
I did find this diamond and was curious if the “True Hearts” was just a marketing or if there was something special about it?

Many thanks for all the help so far in such a confusing world to me.
Yes, that inclusion will not be visible to your naked eye.
I think the True Hearts does provide some level of marginally better brilliance, but the quesiton is always whether or not it’s worth the premium. I’m not sure it is. Plus, I would definitely not suggest you go with a VVS. That’s definitely a waste of money.
Many thanks for all your help in this process.
My pleasure! Let me know whatyou decide to go with in the end.
You asked me to let you know what happened and well life happened and I was unable to purchase the ring at that time.
So I’m back under similar constraints.
I enjoy this setting. https://www.jamesallen.com/engagement-rings/solitaire-rings/ring/item_57-4039.asp?a_aid=dmnd1357
I’m aiming to keep the total cost under $5k and found these two diamonds.

Maybe a slight preference to the latter and as always am seeking your additional thoughts.
This one: https://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/I-SI1-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1335058.asp?a_aid=dmnd1357
is a much nicer stone. The other one has a VG cut grade while this one has an EX cut grade.
The ring looks great too! Don’t forget to apply the TAD0611 coupon code to get 10% off the setting.
Many thanks I ordered the stone and ring last night.
Congrats! Please let me know what you think when it arrives! Btw, did the coupon work for you?
Yes the coupon worked great and I will definitely let you know how it looks. I did notice something on the diamond today and I’m sure it is nothing more than we wanting things to be perfect, but if you look at say 8 o’clock on the upper portion of the diamond there appears to be a dark spot. Do you think this is anything I should worry about?
Apologies if I’m worrying a bit to much, but I’m guessing you get this a fair amount of the time from individuals.
That’s a very small inclusion. THat won’t be visible to your naked eye. It’s possible if you hold the stone up to a lamp and examine it very very closely, you might be able to notice something. But at normal viewing distance, you won’t be able to see it for sure.
Just wanted to follow up. I got the ring last Friday and have looked at it several times over the last week and it looks absolutely brilliant. Hopefully, she will find it to the same liking I do.
Thank you so much for your help through the entire process.
