Thanks for the excellent advice on your site. I have the basics from my girlfriend, who likes the princess cut and a white setting. I am looking online, and it seems that a radiant cut might be a slightly better value. I thought that this diamond with this setting would be just as nice, since the setting covers up the corners of the diamond anyway. Can you give me any advice if this is a good value or a bad idea?
Thanks!

I think that diamond is too deeply cut. You are better off with this one:
Not only will it be more brilliant, it will look the same exact size as the heavier diamond because of the superior cut.
Thanks for your help Michael, I appreciate the advice.
Do you think that it makes sense to look into a radiant cut in general for someone who liked the princess cut? My girlfriend is not the kind of girl to look too deeply into the rings. So she’s mostly interested in a square ring like a princess. I have heard that a radiant cut (and cushion) would actually have more flash than a princess cut of the same size. Is this true? I wouldn’t want to pick a different cut if it ends up taking away some brilliance from the ring.
Thanks again for your help!
I happen to love the radiant cuts, so I would go for it. That diamond I recommended will have very nice brilliance for a square.
