I also was hoping you could give me some advice regarding this diamond:

Color H
Clarity VS1
Cut Excellent (Blue Nile signature Ideal)
Measurements: 6.11 x 6.13 x 3.76
Cost: 5.5k
Since it’s from BlueNile, it has the GIA and GCAL reports.
Do you think this is a fair price and is it a good investment?

As we explain in our clarity post it makes no sense to spend extra on a VS1 when an eye-clean SI1 will look exactly the same. Is there another reason to stick with BN?

Thanks a lot for the reply, after spending some more time on your website the things you mention do make sense. BN is out of the picture – would you say JA is similar in terms of options for settings? Do you think it makes sense to just buy the two separately and then place it somewhere local? or just do everything w JA?
As for the diamonds you showed, they look quite good. I am happy to spend a bit more, up to 4k – 4.5k, would you say the only thing worth increasing in that case is the size? If so, which would you recommend?
