I don’t want to take up too much of your time so I will try to be as brief as I can. I am a young guy who is looking to take the next step with my relationship. The problem is that every jewelry store has their own stories and convincing way of pulling me to buy theirs. That doesn’t mean I am getting value for money.
After much searching I stumbled across your site and you seem to take this sort of thing very seriously, we need more people like you on the internet. Can you help me find the right ring that matches my price point? My budget is between USD$2000 and USD$3000.
I’d be happy to make some recommendations and guide you through the process. What shape diamond and what type of setting are you considering? Yellow gold or white gold/platinum? Will it be a solitaire or does it have sidestones/pave? This may affect the colors that I recommend for the center diamond (as we explain in our post on color).
Let me know and I’d be happy to send you some suggestions.
I read through a posts on your site about diamond education and you make a round diamond sound more appealing for people not looking to spend a whole lot of money on a ring because a lower grade color or cut can appear indistinguishable from a higher one. That being said I am considering a round diamond or a square shape (cushion or princess, my girlfriend prefers the square shape but I think she will be thrilled if she gets a spectacular round shaped diamond) in a setting that does not have a very high profile. White gold and I do not have a preference for whether it would be a solitaire stone or have side stones, If I had to choose I would say solitaire, but I have seen nice rings with side stones as well.
I am anxious to begin the next steps.
I would recommend these diamonds for you:
I love that first one. It leaves you plenty of room for a nice setting and come in on the low end of your budget.
Thanks for your efforts so far, I really appreciate the help.
I agree with the first link. Not so sure about the second 1, it could be my browser but it looks very blemished. Is buying the stone and the setting separately the best/recommended procedure for buying a ring?
I would recommend buying a setting from JA along with it. They will mount it for you.
Thank you for your help Mike. I really like the diamond and this site, it is really interactive.
Our pleasure. Let me know what you decide to do in the end.
I was about to complete the purchase of the stone/ring combination but it looks like the diamond is not available anymore. The order wouldn’t have worked out anyway because they said the ring takes 7 business days to process, and I was planning to be in the states for only 3 days (between May 27 and May 30th). I am sorry to bother you again with my problems, but can you help me to find something again that I can take advantage of while I am in America for that time frame?
I would recommend this diamond for you:
