Hi. I had been looking at the Zales Celebration diamonds, but then I found your site. Now I had been looking at this stone and was wondering your opinion? https://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/H-SI2-Ideal-Cut-Round-Diamond-1500353.asp
Also are the Hearts and Arrows stones really worth the premium? When we looked at the Celebration diamonds I have to admit they really caught the light, but after reading I’m rethinking that.
That particular stone is a bad choice because it has a huge black inclusion on the side. This is a better option:

In many cases H&A is worth the premium. If you loved the ZC, then you’ll be happy you went with the True Hearts.
As to color, I think your website suggests that H-J would be ok on a round stone in a white gold setting? The pictures are kind of hard to judge in some cases. On some the difference between the h and the j seems huge, where on some the J’s actually look better. Do you think I would be ok with a J color stone in the Hearts and Arrows stones, or should I stick with an H?
The pictures are useless for determining color. They’re only good for cut and clarity. If the stone is going to be set in a solitaire setting, then J is fine. If there are high color side stones, then H or I is what I would recommend.
If you wouldn’t mind, one more question. https://www.jamesallen.com/diamonds/J-VS2-ID-Cut-Round-Diamond-1519553.asp
I don’t see the flaws indicated in the AGS certificate even with there 10x, so I would assume this would be “eye perfect”?
Yep. It’s a great looking stone.
Thanks for all your help. I think I’m going to go with that one. I was hoping to reach that “magical” 1 carat mark, but the price jump just doesn’t seem worth it.
Sounds great. And please do let me know what you think when it arrives!
